An Awesome Ride!

Yesterday was just an all around great day!  First, we had record temps here in Denver and the high ended up being 82 degrees!  It was BEAUTIFUL and just what we needed!  Secondly, I got to go on my first ride OUTSIDE of the season!  PLUS, I got to ride with some of my awesome TriBella teammates!  Woohoo!
Some of my awesome teammates!  I'm the second one from the left.
Here we are at the start of our ride.  We rode over to a group of people in a parking lot and asked them to take our picture.  They thought our team kits were pretty cool, and I have to agree! :)

There were a ton of  people out on their bikes, running, roller blading, etc.  It was awesome.  I think we have all been waiting for this day to come and everyone wanted to take advantage of the beautiful weather.
If you notice in the picture, I'm wearing a long sleeved shirt under my jersey.  At the beginning of the ride it was great, but I actually ended up getting HOT!  I didn't dare complain though.  An 82 degree day in April is a luxury and I was just happy to be out riding.
At the turn around point.
We stopped an hour into the ride, then decided to turn around.  I have to say that I had a complete blast throughout the entire ride.  I have never really ridden in a group before, and it was just really nice to have someone to ride with and talk to.  Usually I train by myself, so it was quite different for me riding in a group.  But, it was awesome and something that I hope to do a lot more of.
Plus, some of us are doing Ironman races really close together, so we can potentially do a lot of our training together.  Woohoo!
I feel so fortunate to be a part of this team.  The women in the group are awesome and I am really looking forward to getting to know them even more this season!
Completely happy after my ride! :)
When I got home I was STARVING!  I didn't know how long of a ride we were planning on doing, but by the time I finished it was well after lunch!  Luckily, my husband is amazing and knew just what I needed.
Yum!  This veggie fajita bowl from Chipotle totally hit the spot!

And another thing, my light has been ignited and my motivation for training has returned!  I cannot wait to start my IMAZ training in a couple of weeks!  BRING IT ON!

One more thing.  Have you ever heard the saying, "If you don't like the weather here wait 10 minutes?" Well, check out what type of weather we're having today.
Dark ominous skies that are bringing rain which will turn into SNOW later today!  Ugh!

Sounds like an amazing ride! I'm jealous. Boo to the snow though! Hopefully it doesn't last long.

Hurray! Awesome, Aimee! I felt the same way today, although I rode alone. Something about the sunshine, and shorts, and fresh air!

I've always been a solo trainer as well, but I've been thinking about finding some people to bike and run with. It seems fun!

Glad you were able to get out. It was a beautiful day. So how did you hear about this tri group? I assume it is new.
I wish my light was ignited :)

I rode from my house through CC park on the CC path to the downtown REI yesterday and there were more people on that path than I have ever seen EVER - and I've been running on that path for probaby 20 years! Was a gorgeous day...and now I'm sitting here looking at the snow. We were in Castlewood Canyon and gorgeous at the start - about 63 degrees but at noon, it started snowing. Yikes.

Your group ride sounds like such a blast - I so need to get with a group! I rode with Christie (pedestrian runner) today and that was so nice!!

Love the outfits!!! :)

What awesome April weather! I totally need some of that. We train in cool to moderate temps for 4 1/2 months and then our race is like 95 degrees. Ridiculous. The weather is what always gets me :-(

Your group looks awesome in their outfits - very pro!!
My groups usually look like we just got up from a slumber party where we snuck our parents booze - not so pro.

Oh no! SNOW!

Sounds like so much fun (the ride) and it is so awesome that you found your MO again. Hope the leg keeps healing.

Love the team kits!

So jealous of the 82 degrees... not so much the snow! :(

I think it's great that you have a group of ladies to train with... what a great support system! :) You will get so much out of that... friendship and training wise!

You ladies look awesome! Love the gear. It was 80 here in KC today too; it was awesome! I love the veggie bowl from Chipotle. I made "Chipotle inspired" veggie bowls for dinner tonight. Awesome!

Oh man, I am SO jealous of your hot weather! I would do ANYTHING to ride in weather like that right now. Glad you had a great ride and those are cute kits!

That is so cool, I know its cool, because I am on Team Roll. Being part of a team just rocks, the site of being in a paceline, all in the same kit is something really cool to see. Wait till the team gets some miles in together, seeing how the team works together, how tight your lines will be, 3 inches off each others wheels. SO FREAKING COOL!!! Ok I am gonna stop, I am all excited for you

82!!! I am so jealous! I would cry tears of joy if we broke 60. Great ride, can't wait to start my outdoor training.

I am sorry, did you say 82 degrees? Oh, stop that.

I know you guys are not trying, but you all look completely badass on your rides. That veggie fajita bowl does look delicious, except I would have to eat four of them to fill me up.

So glad you got your motivation back and your fire is lit! This is awesome! I so want to try one of these group rides sometime. Maybe it would help me lost my apprehension about getting out there on a bike.
