Auria Exceed Earphones Review and GIVEAWAY!!

Auria Exceed Earphones
A while back I was asked if I wanted to try out and review a pair of Exceed Earphones.  Of course I said YES!

Here is what the website at auria.com [HERE] says about the Exceed Earphones:
Experience an exciting new level of comfort from our XFit system. Run, hike, bike or walk with the confidence that your earphones will remain in place.
Control volume with a mere finger touch to the stylized InLine control. Use the function button to control audio/video and answer/end calls. Take advantage of the integrated Microphone to make calls on iPhone 4/3GS/3G, Blackberry and Android phones.
Two sets of swappable Personalizers are included : a color-matched, painted set and a hand-picked graphical set.
The super-soft, black mesh carrying case is sized to hold most smartphones (including iPhone 4/3G/3GS and Blackberry models), Exceed earphones and accessories.
When I got them in the mail, I pulled out all the stuff and laid it out on my desk.  Here's what the package came with.

* Earphones
*  Mesh bag
*  Different sizes of ECO (Ear Canal Opening) rings to help you achieve the perfect fit
*  A set of graphic Personalizers that you can swap out to add some fun to the earphones.

The ECO rings are pretty cool and have little circles on them to indicate the different sizes.  I found them to be really easy to switch out.  But, I actually found that the ones that were originally on the earphones worked the best for me.

Another interesting feature is the InLine control button.  While I think it's a great idea in theory, I am used to just hitting the buttons on my shuffle and found myself not really using the button.  However, I can see how it would be a nice feature if you used it with your phone.

Now, you all know that I'm not up to running long distances (YET), but I was able to try these out in several runs ranging from 30-45minutes.  The first thing I did was switch out the Personalizers.  I thought the running girl image was a lot more fun than solid black.  Don't you think?

So, how did they work??
I thought they were awesome!  They are really easy to insert and did not move during my entire run.  Because they are quite bigger than my other earphones I thought they would feel heavy, but they didn't.  In fact, they are light weight and after awhile I didn't even feel them in my ears.

Another nice thing about these earphones is that they allow you to hear the ambient noise around you, which is a must for anyone running by themselves.  What I liked was that I was able to run on my treadmill in my workout room and still hear my boys playing in the other room. :)

So, if you think you might want to try these earphones, you're in luck!  The awesome people of Auria were kind enough to offer a free pair to one of you!  Woohoo!

Here's what you need to do:
* Please leave a separate comment for each entry.
1.  Be a follower. Or, let me know if you already are. :)
2.  Tell me your favorite running song.

The contest will run until April 30th.  I will announce the winner on May 1st!  Good luck!!

Favorite running story? Piece of cake..

On January 19, 1996 my wife went into labor around 8pm. By January 20, in the wee hours, we were the proud parents of Mathew Franklin Shuler.

Since this just happened to be the day of the Houston Marathon I asked my wife if I could go run (since I had signed up). She said go ahead.

I went home and made a shirt that said "Mat born today" and ran the marathon.

My finish photo is one to cherish. Besides the wording on the front, I also arranged a 4hr 17min finish which makes for a great great picture since he was..... you got it.. born at 4:17 in the morning..

True story.

The song that comes into my head most often while I'm running is that country song that goes "If you're going through hell, keep on going...". It's not my favorite song, but gets me through some tough runs!

sorry about the double post of hi! I still don't do blog comment posts very well! I have been following your blog for a while, and I love to listen to Kenny Loggins Footloose at the start of a run, or I'm All Right (Caddyshack theme) Both really get me going!

Favorite Running Song? Wow, that's tough. My favorite running songs are always changing because I like NEW songs, something to take me out of thinking about my stride, my pace, my cadence, breathing, etc and let my body just BE. I used to listen a lot to Missy Higgins and Sara Bareilles on my long runs - good "drift away" music.

I'm a follower! my favorite running song is I remember, by: Deadmau5...definetely more but you don't want to hear that. I believe for some long runs music is essential in helping to keep the stride going strong. :)

Hmmm I don't listen to music too often when I run unless I'm stuck on a TM, but my favorite pre-race song of the moment is I Don't Wanna Care Right Now by Lupe Fiasco
