Cross training

Cross Training???

So, it's not really cross training in the conventional sense, but I have to say that painting IS definitely a workout.  Especially when it's the ceiling you're painting!  Ugh!  My shoulders, neck, and arms have never been this tired and sore!
Have you ever painted your ceilings before?  No??  I don't blame you!  It is a lot of work and is much harder, frustrating, and cumbersome then painting walls.

Plus, you're hands will end up looking like this:
My poor watch is covered in paint!  Good thing the awesome chlorine chemicals at the 24hr. fitness pool take it right off!

Oh, and check out my awesome, very fashionable painting outfit:
I told you it was awesome!  Ha ha!  Seriously, every time I paint, this is what I wear.  These are my "painting pants" because I can wipe excess paint on them and accidentally rub against a painted wall and not have to worry about ruining a pair of my normal pants.  Oh, and the bandanna is a must!  Otherwise, my hair would look just like my hand/watch.  Believe me, I know!!

Happy Thursday everyone!
It's supposed to be in the mid 70's this weekend!  You know what that means??  A bike ride OUTSIDE!  See ya later trainer!  Woohoo!!

I agree! Painting is hard, especially ceilings. We painted our house outside all on our own and my arms, neck and shoulders have never been so sore. Not even from a heavy weight training workout.
I'll be outside riding in the warm weather this weekend too!!! Have fun!

Painting walls is hard work I can't imagine the angle you have to get your body in to paint a ceiling! Definitely cross training!

I used to have a painting shirt that looked like those pants :).

Wooo-hooo for nicer weather! We're supposed to hit 60 today and tomorrow---I'll take it.

I hate painting. Part of me thinks its cool that you can clean your watch at the pool, the other part thinks thats kinda scary.

Its snowing here, seriously it is

You are brave - painting sucks. When Annie and I bought our first house in Maryland we painted the entire thing before we moved in - still do not know how to this day we made it through that experience still married?

Oh dang...I'm not sure I would ever try to paint my ceiling. Nice work! And that weather sounds amazing!

I have painted ceilings before so l feel your pain! I just got home from helping my parent’s fix up their house, my shoulders were sore for days. It’s good swim conditioning right?

I am looking forward to riding this weekend too, I am thinking 50 on the Platte.

I like to paint but I hate the pain in my shoulders and neck too. You are doing a great job.Imagine when it's all done.

Paint, weeding, mowing the lawn.... all great cross training activities.... NOT!

What I hate is painting and then saying, why the heck didn't I take the watch off? Or wearing something that you know you won't get paint on

Painting pants are a necessity.

I absolutely hate painting. My wife and I have an understanding that if she can paint any room in the house any color she wants as long as I am not involved.

You are amazing to be able to do all of that! My husband painted last year and it was such an intense job! Good for you! And I bet you've got arms of steel now:)

Painting is such hard work! I painted my entire apartment the week before I moved in and would sometimes be at it 9 hours a day. I would go home and collapse at night. Great cross training!

Painting is definitely cross training, what a great workout actually! And, you get a new room, to boot! YAY!

I am praying this crazy wind dies down so I can ride long tomorrow! Have a great weekend!

Heck, you may even be able to sell those pants as the new style. I had a friend who wore his painting pants to a party because he didn't have time to change and he got asked MULTIPLE times where he bought them.

I hate painting, I like the results but hate dealing with the whole thing.

So it is supposed to be 40's today. But the snow is still everywhere. I am thinking about going for a ride. OUTSIDE. Just to check it out.
