A week in review and other things too

Other Things Too:
I thought I'd start with the "other" things this week b/c they seem to be all consuming right now! So, I think the last time I posted was last Wednesday!  Yikes!  Things have been really crazy here with our remodeling projects and I just haven't really had the time to blog.  I finally had a chance last night and I looked at how many posts I've missed and it was completely overwhelming.  I will try to get around to reading your awesome posts!

*  Our kitchen is S L O W L Y coming together.  I have been trying to repaint the cabinets, but the weather is not cooperating!  It has to be at least 40 degrees to paint, and although the outside temp. might be in the 50s, our garage is FREEZING!  So, it's just not happening.  I think I'm going to have to start painting the doors on my kitchen table and just deal with the smell!

*  Our new counter top is supposed to be installed next Friday!  Woohoo!

*  Did anyone catch that I said project(s) in the first paragraph??  Well, not only are we taking on our kitchen, but we are also taking on our bathroom!  The original layout was completely cramped and the tile on the floor was cracking.  So, we pulled up the old tile, which by the way came up too easily, and are putting in a corner shower.  It is going to be so much better when it's done, but in the mean time, it's just a complete mess!  AND, we have to share a bathroom with our 3 and 5 year old boys.  Umm...being the only girl sharing a bathroom with 3 boys is NOT fun!  What is it about boys/men and not being able to get all their pee into the toilet??!!  Sorry if that's too much information, but it's GROSS!

*  My mom came for a visit this past week and it was awesome having her here!  We got to go around and find fun things to decorate/update our house!  Although it was stressful at times (who knew it would be sooo hard to find a nice set of tall candle holders??), it was a lot of fun!  My mom is an amazing decorator and I am so thankful for her help.

*  NADA, ZILCH, NOTHING, ZERO!!  I have not worked out in over a week!  I feel fat, blobby, and just gross in general.  I NEED to workout!  Remodeling is zapping all of my energy, but if I don't start doing some sort of exercise soon I am going to explode!

Sounds like you are making some progress on your remodeling projects, I'm sure it will all be worth it in the end (keep telling yourself that)! Oh, I feel for you...for having to share a bathroom with 3 boys!! I know what you're talking about and it's not pretty. Hope you're able to ger a workout in soon. Hang in there!

I hate remodeling projects - great when they are done, but so much work. I don't blame you at all for being zapped of energy. However, I completely feel your pain about feeling like a blob. I have very, very unfortunately not done any working out for almost 3 weeks now - I was very sick and then I injured my back a week ago and have been unable to do anything. I feel exactly the same way. I just said that to someone today - I feel doughy and gross. I am going to force myself to continue to let my back rest the rest of the weekend and then fingers crossed to resume my workout schedule Monday. Good luck with the remodel!

Oh I hear ya....busy-ness makes for feeling not "yourself" and really wanting to do something other than the usual busy!
I feel like a blob;) when life gets mad and I don't make time for (running) sporty stuff:)

Hopefully you have a good weekend and things/projectS get completed soon!

I completely understand! I only worked out once all of last week and was in the same place. I dusted myself off and got back on the wagon this week and I know you'll do the same. It's a tough time of year to be training AND you're in the middle of remodeling while sharing a bathroom with boys! Cut yourself some slack =).

It sounds like the remodeling is coming along well. Glad to hear it.

I totally hear you on feeling "off" without training in your normal schedule. I get the same way. Even if I do a set of pushups every now and then, it can really help me feel better; I blame an addiction to endorphins. haha

Keep up the work and you'll be back to training in no time.

You've been busy and productive! You needed a break from training, the signs were there. Now you are refreshed, mentally and physically and you will see huge gains in your training! Can't wait to read about them!

I've done the kitchen bath remodel TWICE, in two different apartments, so I sympathize! I've also been a super absentee blogger, misery loves company! Can't wait to see you finished kitchen and bath! You will post photos, right? RIGHT?! ;)

oh man home projects stress me out. I like things to be all picked up and in order so they just can't get done fast enough!

Think about how rested your body will feel with this fantastic break you are giving it! (BTW, that blog picture kinda grossed me out! LOL)

This last picture is too funny...I hate when I feel like that. :) Our house has been kind of half done for so long...all the paint and tools have been in the dining room for about a month. Kitchen is being done in a few weeks and I will be sooo glad to have it done! We are refacing so not painting the cabinets.

LMAO at that picture! Good Lord, we all know how that feels! You're busy, and when your house is being ripped to pieces, you get anxious and priorities go out the window. Just breathe. You'll get back to it very soon, and who knows: You may have needed the rest...maybe. Lol :)

Good luck with your remodel and training for an ironman. We remodeled our first house two years ago, and I had no energy for anything else. It was worth it when it sold after 10 days on the market, but I am not ready to start thinking about working on our new house.

Oh, and I made your Korma this week it was SO good! I have just recently stopped eating meat so please keep the recipes coming!

I can totally relate to the feelings you have when you don't work out. It is the same for me.
Best of luck with the remodeling. beyond the physical part that takes a lot of mental/emotional strength. Hope you get to work out (therapy) soon.

That fish? pic is so hilarious! I feel like that too! Spring will come soon and then the guilt of a swimming suit will help me get back on track! ha ha ha XOXO C

That is the funniest picture. Taking time off has that effect on all of us; don't sweat it.
Sounds like you're in for some real treats at home!

Oh my gosh Aimee, we redid our whole house (okay, who am I kidding, my husband did it and I told him what I wanted it to look like) and it's HARD work. Don't sweat missing the workout... I'm sure you are getting your fair share of cross training!

Wow, you are busy!
OK what kind of fish is that?

Sounds like a whole lot of winter projects. Hopefully you have some Ai"mee" time in between.
