A week in review and other things too

Before I get to my post, I just have to say...GO TEAM USA...right now the USA/Japan Women's World Cup Final game is on and I am so excited!!  Woohoo!!!

Training:
I've had a great training week and I am pumped!  It was so nice to get back to a training routine after not being able to do a lot with all the moving we did!  There are only 4 MONTHS left until IMAZ and I'm freaking out!!

Running: I went for an awesome 1:15 run the other day!  I found a great trail system through my neighborhood that leads to the trails in Cherry Creek State Park and I was so excited.  BUT, with all the rain we have been having, I ran into a lot of mud.  At one point I came to this little wooden bridge that was completely flooded.  I literally stood there for 5 minutes trying to figure out if there was a way around it.  NOPE!  So, I walked through the muddy water and ended up running with squeaky shoes for the rest of my run.  It was pretty funny!  I was worried about getting blisters, but my SmartWool socks ROCK!  They got wet, but my feet stayed relatively dry and blister free!  Woohoo!

Other things too:
*  Guess what we found in our yard?  Do you know what this is?  WE SURE DIDN'T!  We were all standing around looking at it when all of a sudden, we saw this:
Both of my boys screamed and I totally ran away!  Then, I went straight to the computer and looked it up.  They are called sweat bees.  And just like their name implies, they are attracted to human sweat!  WHAT??  Are you kidding me!  They can sting, but I guess their sting is pretty harmless.  Still..how freaky are flourescent green bees that like sweat?!?

*  Julie from You Just Have to Tri [HERE] tagged me for this fun idea!  Thanks Julie!  I'm sure you've all heard about it by now, because it's spreading like crazy!  But, the deal is, you get to ask me ANY question you want about ANYTHING and I'll answer them!  So, ask away!  :)

Now, to tag some of you!  Have fun!

Oh how funny! I love finding new trails, especially when they're close to home!

I'm watching the WC right now, too. I swear, I'm going to have a heart attack.

Id like to invite everyone to read a blog post today of a woman who joined the old order Mennonite church from the outside. I'm extremely lucky in publishing her very first, and most likely last post on Amish Stories. A lot of work was involved in her getting permission to be even able to write anything on the internet, and permission was given by her bishop. So please stop by and read about a woman who gave-up her car and other worldly possessions for the person that she loved. Richard from Amish Stories.

I should check out the Smart Wool socks as my feet are always wet, especially when I am pouring water over my head all the time :)

Nothing better than a pair of socks to keep water from turning your feet to blisters.
Any question? Hmmm? What is your greatest fear about The Ironman?

Smartwool socks are the absolute best!! They keep the blisters away 99% of the time. And...HA! We don't have a Super Target, but when our Target is renovated it will have fresh produce and the lounge chairs sound so much better than the grocery store floor!!!

I never seen bees like that before

- If you couldnt do triathlons or running races, how would you stay active?

- Besides cooking and endurance sports, what are your other hobbies?

- If Barbie is so popular, why do you have to buy her friends?

OMG, I have never seen sweat bees before. That is crazy!

I am going to ask you my standard question, Brad Pitt or George Clooney?

Sweat bees? I've never seen a nest like that in a yard, freaky!!

So my questions:
- What did you do with the sweat bees? I'm not sure I could sleep knowing they were in my backyard! Ha.

- Now that we're practically neigbbors (I run 99% of my runs at CC park), when are we going to go for a run together? :)

Enjoy your week!!

If you could give 3 pieces of advise for someone transitioning from running to tri's what would it be?

What has been your favorite race?

We have sweat bees here. Yea for training!!!!

My question - you seem to be such a good cook. How do you manage family cooking, planning meals, etc. I want to get better so suggestions are welcome!

Ugh on the sweat bees - I would have been screaming and running with your boys! :)

I know you love to swim, bike and run. Do you think your boys will follow in Mommy's footsteps at some point?

What is your favorite distance to run?
