A week in review and other things too

Training:
Source
* I can finally say that I am almost 100% better!  Woohoo!  I was feeling so good yesterday, that I wrote up a 2month winter maintenance plan that will start on Monday!  As you probably remember, I was supposed to start my winter maintenance plan a month ago.  So, I am excited about finally getting back to some sort of training!
* Swimming: Guess what I found out when I went to the gym yesterday?  They are redoing all of the tile in the showers in our gym and they will be closed until the end of Feb!!  They closed off the access to the pool from the locker rooms, which means that when I go to swim in the morning I have to walk through the main gym in my suit and towel to go to and from the locker room!  Then, I won't even be able to shower afterwards!  I could go to another gym, but the other locations are just not that convenient for me.  Ugh!! What would you do?
Source
* ITB: My right ITB is still giving me problems.  I really did a number on it from that marathon.  I've been stretching and foam rolling, and I think it's helping.  But, sometimes I'll take a wrong step and POW..the pain returns!  It's been about 3 weeks since the marathon and I really hope it heals soon!

And Other Stuff Too:

Because of the extreme cold temps, my boys had two "cold" days from school.  We were all pretty much going stir crazy in the house, so we decided to venture out to our favorite place, Target.  I decided to get a new movie for the boys and I've heard that "How to Train Your Dragon" was a good one.
We got home, made some popcorn and hot cocoa, and sat down to watch it.  I just have to say that it is one of the best kids' movies that I have seen in a long time!  The messages in the movie are awesome and we all loved it!  If you haven't seen it, I would highly recommend watching it with your kiddos!

*  I am getting pretty tired of the cold temps around here!  I know it's winter, but it's pretty ridiculous!  Luckily, we're getting a "warm" up this week and will be back in the 40s.  Spring come soon!!

* I still have some tri clings left, so if you want one, email me your address and I'll send one out to you!
*  It seemed like the majority of you would like to see some vegetarian/vegan recipes!  Woohoo!  So, starting next week, I'll be introducing "Tasty Tuesday!"

I hope you all have a great weekend! :)

We loved loved loved How To Train Your Dragon! One of my favorite kid movies ever! That...and UP, of course..."Adventure is Out There" ;-)

We just watched Despicable Me again twice this weekend.

I'm glad you're feeling better! I'm over the cold too...Spring feels very far away.

You don't want to come to my pool, the heater's been broke and OMG, I nearly froze to death on Wed. Nothing beats -15 outdoors and a pool that's 60 degrees. It was the hardest thing I ever did in my life getting in that pool!!!

I'm glad you're feeling better...wish I were. blah.

And yeah, I heard it's suppose to be chilly and wintery again come Sunday. Why wasn't CO a teeny bit further south... :)

Dragon training is a favorite in my house...watching the DVD and pretending we have dragons that have to be trained. BTW, I tagged you for an award on my blog.

Love "How To Train Your Dragon" We saw it in the theater and again at home twice. great movie for the kiddos and the big kiddos (adults)

Yeah for Tasty Tuesday. That is super exciting. Please email to finally finish this book. I only have about 8 recipes to put in there so really nothing more than a 1/2 day.

I usually just dry off, throw on my clothes and head home smelling like chlorine. Then shower at home. That might be the only option until the showers are fixed.

Our girls love "How to train your Dragon". We now have dragon toys laying around the house.

Can't wait to see some of your recipes. Yay, for Tasty Tuesday! I hear ya on the cold weather. It's getting pretty old for me as well. Today it hit 40, and it felt like a heat wave compared to the teens last week. When will Spring be here?

Glad you are feeling better. My boys LOVE How to train your dragon.

Woo hoo on feeling better! Confidence booster?

Do you think cheesecloth would work for straining the almonds when making the almond milk? I have tons of it and need to get ride of it, but I am unsure if it is fine enough. Lemme know!

Glad you are feeling better!

Good luck dealing with the pool! It sounds like the situation really stinks.

Love the dragon movie! YEA for feeling better. I have been well all winter for the most part but the germs are starting to catch me : (

The kids liked the dragon movie, but the one they keep watching over & over is "Despicable Me" :)

ITB issues can be such a pain to get rid of - I had to enlist my chiro's help to fix it, then roll/stretch/yoga to keep it from recurring. Good luck!

great news you feel better
we will be home free out of winter soon?

stick with your pool and it will be super luxourious when its done after you suffer thru the reno!

That stinks about the gym and locker rooms. I'd sport a shirt and sweats while walking to the pool. But you can do anything for 4 weeks, right? I struggled with ITB for a year. And then I've been free from it for 2. PT, yoga, stretching, and I only run 3 days a week. Good luck with yours! It WILL get better!

Caratunk Girl said...

Take care of that ITB. Have you tried ART? (Active Release Therapy?) or any other kind of massage (besides foam roller)? Might help. Sucky about the pool closing, but it might get fancy shmancy maybe?

Yeah for feeling better!!

Bring on Tasty Tuesday. That is my goal this month: to start Tasty Tuesday's back again.

ITB is such a funny anatomical being. Strengthening and patience will bring it back to where it was.

Unknown said...

Glad that you are feeling better, but take care of that ITB! And that totally stinks about the gym...

I have also been struggling with ITB issues on my right leg. I feel you pain....literally.

And yeah for Tasty Tuesdays!!!
