Pumpkin fun!

For the last few years we've been going to an actual farm where the boys can see farm animals, go on a hay ride, pick pumpkins, and do other fun things.  This year however, Halloween just snuck up on us (is October really almost over???) and we ran out of time.  At first I was a little sad that we wouldn't be doing our annual trip to the farm.  But, we found a fun local pumpkin patch to take the boys too, and they still had fun, so all was good.

The pumpkins:

Ian searched around for a long time before deciding on this one.  It was perfect!

Owen walked up to the biggest pumpkin in the patch and decided that was the one he wanted.  It was sooo cute.  But, we told him he had to be able to carry it, so he decided on this one instead. :)

Our family!  We've come to expect with family pictures that at least one person will be looking somewhere other than the camera! It is what it is.  Ha ha!

Let the carving begin!

                                                            I love this picture!

Finished products:
All of our pumpkins on the porch all ready for the trick-or-treaters.  Ian carved his little pumpkin all my himself.  He was so proud of himself! :)

Roasted pumpkin seeds anyone?  Yum!

Aimee - these are so awesome.

Love them.

Love that you did the seed thing too. I was way too lazy last night and ditched them ---- i'm so bummed that I did that now. :(

You're awesome.

Pumpkin carving! Awesome for the boys....tons of fun:) They turned out great! We still need to do ours, I have three of them just sitting on our steps.

One of my favorite things about the pumpkin carving is the pumpkin seeds! I love mine sprinkled with Lawry's salt! Mmmmm...so good!

Hey girl...I'm in New Mexico for fall break so sorry I haven't commented - no internet (at a cafe right no). The pumpkins are just so so so fun! I still love to carve pumpkins with my kiddos, only know the boys think they have to make the puking or with knives coming out of them...

My hand started cramping after carving our one HUGE pumpkin. It did yield a lot of seeds though. Like you, I toasted them and they are so yummy!

Love your jack o'lanterns!
