A week in review and other things too

Training:
source
* My training can pretty much be summed up by one word: NADA.  The day after the marathon I started to get a little tickle in my throat.  Since I was in AZ I thought it was just allergies.  Oh, how I was wrong.  As soon as we got back to CO, I got sick AGAIN, and am still sick.  It's the same thing I had twice before during my training and I am soooo tired of it!  I just want to be well again.
So, I haven't been doing anything except yoga.  I know my body is revolting and I need to just rest.  But, it sucks and I really want to get back at it.  Ugh!
But, is it just me or does it seem like everyone is getting this bronchitis/chest cold/gross snot thing this year.  It's crazy that so many of us are sick right now.  I hope we ALL feel better soon!
Some of my TriBella teammates!
*  I am so excited about this!  I was lucky enough to be chosen to be part of a new all women's tri team in Colorado.  It is called TriBella and it is going to be awesome!  It is in conjunction with a new store that will be opening in Feb. called TriBella Multisport.  You can check it out [HERE], but basically it is going to be a multisport store tailed exclusively for WOMEN!  Woohoo!  It is a totally new concept, and it is much needed...don't you agree girls??
We had our first get together last week and it was so much fun!  I am really looking forward to actually having women to train with, especially now that I'll be doing lots of LONG bike rides and runs for IMAZ training.

* Speaking of training, check out our new workout room.  Since we had our new carpet installed, we decided to change things up a bit in our basement and dedicate one bedroom to our training!  Woohoo!  Now, my husband and I can ride our trainers at the same time instead of taking turns.  We can even open some windows to get airflow so we don't suffocate!  And, we're going to put a small TV in there so we can watch our spinervals, movies, or whatever show we feel like.  Yay!

This is not a picture of me!  In fact, I can't even get my heels to touch the ground when I do it!
* I went to yoga for the first time in over a month last week and I about died!  It is amazing how much strength I have lost in my arms and shoulders, and let me tell you, doing downward dogs and cobras over and over again were tough!  I seriously thought my arms were going to fall off!!

* My ITB is still being a bear!  Ugh!!  I started doing a ITB stretching routine twice a day, so hopefully between the stretching, yoga, and rest, it will heal up before I start training!  * Fingers crossed!*

Other things too:
*  This is for all the parents of boys out there.  I swear I have had to throw away 2 pairs of pants over the last couple of weeks because my oldest is constantly getting huge holes in the knee.  They start out as small holes, but by the end of the day it ends up as a massive hole that is too far gone to patch.  It's crazy!!  He's almost 6, so I know he plays hard with his friends at recess and stuff.   My question is, does this happen to all of your boys, or is it because I'm too cheap to buy expensive clothes for my boys.  Usually I get their clothes on the clearance rack at Target, but maybe I need to start spending a little more money??

* For those of you who missed my buildasign.com post, you can check it out [HERE].  If there are some of you still interested in getting your own tri cling, email me your address and I'll send one out to you!
Also, Megan at Buildasign.com has offered all of you a 10% discount if you're feeling creative and want to design something of your own!  You can use the code SWIMBIKERUN at checkout to receive the discount!   Woohoo!
Source
*  I have noticed on several blogs that I follow, that more and more people are starting to incorporate  more vegetarian dishes into their diets.  I think it's awesome!  I know how intimidating it was for me when I first started eating vegetarian, and although I found recipes that seemed good, I just never knew how they were going to turn out.  So, I was thinking about posting some of my favorite vegetarian recipes on my blog for all of you to try, if you wanted.  I was thinking I could maybe do a post every other week and call it something fun??  I know there are already "Meatless mondays," but maybe I could do "Tasty Tuesday" or incorporate it into my Sunday Sampler posts?  What do you think??  Do you think it's something you might like??  Do you have any awesome name ideas??  Let me know what you think!! :)

I hope you all have a wonderful weekend!!  :)

COngrats on the new team, i love that concept

love, love, love the new training room, you have to name the room, like tricave, or house of pain, something cool to call it

Even me, mr meat-atarian has gone to the veggie side (ohhh I still have meat, dont get me wrong) I eat ALOT more veggies now. My new favs are spinach and black beans (I hope black beans are healthy, I bought a case of them from costco)

I would love some veggie recipes! I've been a vegetarian for 2+ years now, but I get stuck in such food ruts, and end up eating the same things over and over.

Hope you feel better soon!

Congrats on the team! Sounds like it will be great support.

I am jealous of your training room! I'm constantly having to pull the bike and trainer out and put it away again.

You are smart to take it easy now. Try to sleep a lot, too! Boo for the ITB, but YAY for the tri group. How awesome! Excited about following your training

That triBella team/store sounds way awesome! I wish Tucson had something like that. Maybe I'll just have to start my own. :)

Congrats on the new team! That is definitely neeeded and well I am jealous. All this talk about teams and I am still grinding things out on my own. I need a team!

I hope you feel better very soon!!!!

Boys and jeans! Ughhh, how I remember. Don't bother buying more expensive clothing because they will put holes in them also!

I love the vegetarian recipe idea. Please do share!

Oh no! Sorry you're feeling sick again. I can't imagine how frustrating that must be!!

I LOVE the workout room - such an awesome idea! It will be so much easier to hop on your bike if it's always set up!

And YAY for TriBella's! Such a GREAT idea and YES much needed! I would love to be apart of a tri team, I think it's so much easier to get your workouts done that way. Especially for the bike - training buddies are a MUST for safe long rides!

I would LOVE to see your veggie recipes! I'm really starting to struggle with new ideas, not that I've put a lot of effort into it yet though ;)

Ok girl...first of all, I am sick of you being sick, too! Get better and stay better! A friend of mine was talking about how she puts Emergen-C in her protein smoothies....hum...

Woohooo!! Congrats on the new gig, that's awesome! I will definitely come and check it out...not that I am a tri girl, but I've done a few in my past and maybe I need to do another this summer :).

As for boys and pant...omg, I am SO glad I am over that age and they are not constantly tearing them up on the playground at school. Ugh, it's so expensive!

Have a great weekend...and I am so hoping you feel better soon!

Feel better! The new team sounds fantastic!!! My boys rip the crap out of their pants. No solution - just more pants.

I would love a veggie recipe day - paricularly if it is low carb :)

Congrats on the TriBella, that's awesome. I'm having serious pre-vegetarian thoughts. Wondering how I'd ever get the hubby on board. And I'd definitely need help with finding great recipies.

Yea for TriBella!!! How exciting for you! I can't wait til it gets going, it seems like they have been putting things on my car at events for forever!

I so hope you can kick this sickness!

Bring on the recipes!

Oh, I hope you feel better soon. Your workout room looks great.
Congrats on being part of the Tribella Team. I love the team name and the concept of a women's tri store. You must have a huge tri population in Colorado.
Boys in pants. My boys are pretty gentle on their clothes - and both hate things like stains and clothes - so I'm lucky. I do buy better quality stuff for them; it's worth it when it lasts.

Oooo awesome about the team! And yes, more recipes! I love hearing how other people eat all veg-head style. I get stuck with my same five or so dishes over and over and then eventually I just can't stand them anymore!

I've missed you! I feel like I've been out of touch lately! Anywho, my boys constantly get holes in their pants. I hardly ever get to save pants for my youngest because my oldest puts holes in them before he has even outgrown them. AND, I don't think it has anything to do with quality. We have had holes in target pants and holes in gap pants and holes in gymboree pants...now I just buy target all the time!

Get well Soon!! lots of Vit C and Zinc!! Congrats on your sponsorship!! I don't have a boy so I cannot comment on that one with the jeans! My daughter likes her sweats right now!!

If Jack has a little hole in his pants I have to do something quickly because between dropping him off at school and picking him up he will have tore it bigger and bigger with his fingers by messing with it all day.

I realized the other day I was sending him to school in highwaters and figured I better do something about it before he gets made fun of.

Now he's sporting two new pair of cool cargo pants. Wanna know the first thing he did when he put them on? Ran screaming down the hallway and then slid on his knees on the hardwoods. Of course.

I love the idea of a multisport store geared towards women. I would in fact, love a multi sport store of any kind since my city doesn't have one! We only have running stores that carry one or two triathlon related things. You're going to have such a fun season with TriBella!

Sick again? Ugh, that sucks! 2 winters ago I had this lingering headcold/sinus infection/cough thing that stayed around for over a month so I can sorta relate... but it seems like you've been sick even longer! Rest up and feel better soon!!

Very cool about TriBella! Teammates are awesome :)

Sorry you got so sick! I feel like it was a blessing I didn't get sick after goofy. With all that running, standing around in the cold and all the disney parks with all the people.

You've got plenty of time to train, rest is probably what you need.

As far as the tasty tuesday or meatless monday goes---the more veggie recipes I can collect the better and more motivated I'll be to eat more vegetarian.

Sorry you are not feeling well. I was there for TWO weeks after arriving back east after a plane ride from Seattle.

I love the new training room. Of course, my children would have their legos strewn across the room in about ten minutes after finishing it.

Training room rocks! Jealous. Though I guess I am glad I don't own a treadmill because I am sure I would never be able to make myself use it.

Yes, something fierce is going around! Hope you are starting to feel better!

And congrats about TriBella! Sounds awesome! Keep us updated!
